The Department of Chemistry, Sikkim Government College, Namchi, organized an Awareness Lecture on Green Chemistry with the objective of educating students about environmentally friendly chemical practices and the importance of sustainable development.
The programme aimed to promote the reduction of chemical pollution, conservation of natural resources, and the adoption of safer chemical processes in both daily life and scientific work.
The lecture was delivered by Professor (Dr.) Chanchal Das, Department of Chemistry, Sikkim Government College, Namchi. In his address, he explained the concept and significance of Green Chemistry and elaborated on its key principles, including waste prevention, the use of safer solvents, energy efficiency, and the utilization of renewable resources.
