Principal Dr. Deepak Tewari participated in a three-day national workshop on “NEP 2020 Orientation and Sensitisation Programme for College Principals/Vice Principals in the Northeast Region.” The programme was held at NEHU, Shillong from 10–12 December 2025.The workshop was organised by the Department of Training and Professional Development in Education, National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), New Delhi, in collaboration with the Department of Sociology, North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, Meghalaya. The primary objectives of the workshop were to enhance conceptual clarity on the provisions of NEP 2020, understand their implications for higher education institutions, and strengthen leadership capacity for institutional readiness and change management. Eminent professors, vice chancellors, and directors from reputed universities across India served as resource persons, delivering lectures on various components of NEP 2020. The workshop also included group discussions and hands-on training sessions. Shri Lakhmen Rymbui, Minister of State for Education, Government of Meghalaya, graced the inaugural session as the Chief Guest and Professor Sherwin May Sungoh, former Pro-Vice Chancellor of NEHU, delivered the keynote address. Professor Ghanashyam Bez, Coordinator of NEP and Dean, School of Physical Sciences, NEHU, chaired the valedictory session and Professor Sumarbin Umdor, Pro-Vice Chancellor of NEHU, delivered the valedictory address.
Principal Dr. Deepak Tewari was nominated by the Vice Chancellor of Sikkim University to represent Sikkim State in this national-level workshop.
