Professor Deepak Tewari, Principal of Sikkim Government College, Namchi, was felicitated by the Vimocchan Samaroh Samiti of Sardung Khorung, Gyalshing.
The felicitation ceremony was held on 21 March 2026 at the Indian Nepali Literature and Cultural Heritage Research Centre, Gyalshing. Professor Tewari was honoured in recognition of his long-standing contributions to Nepali literature. He was also acknowledged for presenting a serious and insightful critical review as the discussant during the historic launch of the book “Sikkimay Gurung haru ra vera palan udyog”, authored by Padma Shri Kedar Gurung and Tek Bahadur Gurung Tami.
The programme was graced by the Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, Shri Puran Gurung, as the Chief Guest. The event witnessed the presence of several distinguished personalities of the state, intellectuals from the Gurung community, eminent literary figures, teachers, and students.
