On 26th Feb. 2025, Sikkim Government College, Namchi, organized a No Tobacco Campaign rally to raise awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco consumption and promote a tobacco-free environment among students and faculty members.
Students actively participated, carrying placards with anti-tobacco messages such as “Say No to Tobacco, Yes to Life,” “Tobacco Kills, Quit Now,” and “A Healthy Future is a Tobacco-Free Future.” The rally emphasized the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle and the role of young people in creating a tobacco-free society.
The rally was guided by key individuals including Dr. Yugal Kishore Khanal, Dean of Student Affairs; Mrs. Diki Ongmu Lepcha, Assistant Professor in the Department of Education; Miss Diki Choden Bhutia, Assistant Professor in the Department of Education; and members of the Student Representative Council, ensuring smooth execution and maximum impact.
The campaign successfully motivated students to embrace healthier lifestyles and reinforced the collective effort towards a tobacco-free environment.
