OVERVIEW OF THE DEPARTMENT
The department of Zoology started in the year 2012 under the head-ship of Dr. Namrata Thapa. The department started offering the UG course i.e., Bachelors of Honors in Zoology since the academic year July 2012 with a first batch of students totaling to 34.
Since its humble beginning 12 years ago, the department has seen many highs under the guidance and efforts of many passionate faculties.
At present, the department is located on the first floor of the New Science Building. The department has 5 qualified teaching faculties and 2 administrative staff (1 office attendant and 1 lab attendant).
Infrastructurally, the department has well-equipped classrooms for honors and general classes. The classes are taken in MS Powerpoint mode. There is a separate laboratory for honors and general classes with extensive equipment for smooth conduct of practical. In addition, a furnished faculty room and a chemical room is part of the department.
