The Department of Education, Sikkim Government College, Namchi organized a series of activities from March 2026 to June 2026 for the post-graduate students under the course Experiential Learning (EDU-F-555). 

For this purpose, the students were assigned supervisors who provided continuous guidance and support to enable them to successfully complete the tasks assigned to them. The students were asked to select a product of their interest and gain hands-on experience related to the product chosen by them. The students were also taken to Temi Tea Garden and Factory on 4th June 2026 with the objective of providing students with practical exposure and first-hand experience regarding the functioning and management of the tea industry 

The following products were selected by the students under the Experiential Learning programme:

1. Mugwort (Titepati) Herbal Soap, Tea and Organic Hand-wash making at Ahoma, Sikkim. 

2. Salroti making at Tinik-Chisopani under the guidance of Ms. Kaushila Chettri. 

3. Crochet Head Band, Wind Chime, Wallet and Sling Bag, making at Namchi under the guidance of Ms. Esmrika Rai. 

4. Doko weaving at Namchi under the guidance of Mr. Lal Bahadur Tamang. 

5. Cane Wire Bag and Basket making at Namchi under the guidance of Mrs. Binita Sharma. 

6. Ice Cream Stick Basket and Vase Making and Newspaper Baskets at Namchi under the guidance of Mr. Kuldeep Chettri. 

The activities were evaluated on 12 June 2026 through the submission of written reports, submission of products made by students themselves and PowerPoint presentations by the students. The programme provided the students with valuable opportunities for experiential learning and enabled them to acquire practical knowledge and skills through hands-on activities. It also fostered creativity, self-reliance, problem-solving abilities, and entrepreneurial skills among the students, thereby bridging the gap between theoretical understanding and practical application.
