The Literary Committee of Sikkim Government College, Namchi, organised a literary quiz on 19 August 2026 with the objective of encouraging students to develop a deeper interest in language and literature.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Literary Convenor, Dr. Laxmi Rai, and Ms. Simran Subba. The students participated with enthusiasm and made sincere efforts to perform well in the competition.

The quiz was conducted by Ms. Shreya Rai, a 5th Semester student of English Honours, who served as the Quiz Master for the day. She conducted the session with great zest and enthusiasm, keeping the participants engaged throughout. The quiz featured a wide range of interesting questions, covering topics within and beyond the prescribed syllabus and encompassing various aspects of English language and literature.

For the competition, the students were divided into four teams named after renowned literary figures—Austen, Shelley, Wordsworth, and Woolf. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation and healthy academic engagement among the students.

Team Austen emerged as the winners, with Arun Rai (5th Semester) and Swarnima Kami (1st Semester) securing the first position. Team Shelley, represented by Saroj Rai (5th Semester) and Reeya Kami (1st Semester), secured the second position.

The third position was secured by Team Wordsworth, represented by Abigail Lepcha (3rd Semester) and Suhana Thapa (3rd Semester). Team Woolf, represented by Shahil Rai (5th Semester) and Pranita Rai (5th Semester), secured the fourth position
