As part of the observance of World Environment Day Week 2026, the Department of Chemistry organized a World Environment Day Thematic Quiz Competition on 1 June 2026. The event aimed to promote environmental awareness, scientific knowledge, analytical thinking, and understanding of contemporary environmental challenges among students.

Science departments of the college participated enthusiastically, with each department represented by a team of four students. The quiz covered topics such as environmental conservation, climate change, biodiversity, sustainability, renewable energy, and environmental policies. The competition was conducted smoothly under the supervision of the organizing committee comprising final-semester students.

The participants displayed excellent knowledge, teamwork, and competitive spirit throughout the event. Following several engaging rounds, the results were as follows:

Winner (1st Position): Department of Botany

1st Runner-Up (2nd Position): Department of Physics

Kalgang Sherpa, Avinash Mangrati, Matha Rai & Kushal Chettri

2nd Runner-Up (3rd Position): Department of Mathematics

Jennifer Rai, Sneha Rai, Pradeep Rai & Bikash Bhujel

Certificates were awarded to the winning teams in recognition of their outstanding performance.

The programme successfully fostered environmental awareness, critical thinking, and scientific temperament among students. The Department of Chemistry extends its gratitude to the college administration, participating departments, faculty members, student organizers, and all participants for their support in making the event a success.
