Prof. Deepak Tewari, Principal of Sikkim Government College, Namchi, visited Sikkim Institute of Science and Technology (SIST), Chisopani, as a representative of the Department of Higher Education, Government of Sikkim, as part of the inspection team constituted to assess the institution’s academic and infrastructural facilities for affiliation with Sikkim University.
The inspection team comprised Prof. Deepak Tewari, Principal, Sikkim Government College, Namchi; Dr. Rakesh Ranjan, Associate Professor, Department of Geology, Sikkim University; and Prof. Subir Mukhopadhyaya, Department of Physics, Sikkim University.
During the visit, the inspection team conducted a comprehensive assessment of the institution’s laboratories, library, classrooms, academic buildings, infrastructure, physical facilities, and other institutional amenities. The team also interacted with and assessed the teaching and non-teaching staff and reviewed various academic, administrative and support facilities of the institution.
The inspection was undertaken to evaluate the preparedness, academic standards and institutional infrastructure of SIST in accordance with the prescribed requirements for affiliation with Sikkim University.
The visit marks an important step in the institutional assessment process and reflects the collaborative efforts of the Department of Higher Education, Government of Sikkim, and Sikkim University toward strengthening higher education infrastructure and academic standards in the state.
